Style preferences in the design of the kitchen

The arrangement of the kitchen often leaves even the most determined people at a loss. After all, this household zone contains a lot of necessary things, which should always be at hand. Experienced designers believe that classic styles or new trends in hi tech or techno style are best suited for decorating a kitchen.

Country style

The style of country presents us with a rustic identity with a touch of countryside. In fact, this is a classic diluted with the freedom of modernism. Country style today is especially popular due to the combination of ease of use and reasonable cost.

Country-style kitchen furniture is dominated by simple shapes, natural shades, and the absolute naturalness of the materials. The preference is undoubtedly an array of natural wood, but the facades of kitchens can be made of MDF, particleboard, natural rattan and bamboo. Floor and wall cabinets with swinging facades resemble the design of classic kitchens. Wicker furniture and other interior details are welcome: shelves with boxes, armchairs, lamp shades.

Of particular value is the handmade work: hanging carved shelves, benches, knitted fringe and embroidery on towels. Necessary kitchen details of the country style: linen textiles and colorful chintz (curtains, tablecloths), numerous wicker baskets and "village" rugs, cast-iron pots and earthenware. Furniture cast hardware has a rough look.

In kitchens with country style design, free-standing appliances (solo) are allowed. The universal design of this direction can be used not only for country houses, but also in the apartments of a metropolis.

Provence style

Another country style is Provence, associated with the warmth of the southern sun. Kitchens in this area do not tolerate artificiality. Natural materials with their pronounced structure are preferred here. To emphasize the style, wood, painted ceramic tiles, glazed brick or mosaic are used. The texture of the materials is the most important component of the Provence style. For example, part of the kitchen wall can be faced with natural stone or cork, and window curtains can be decorated with linen curtains.

Provence style furniture with the help of special craquelure technique gives an aged look. The ideal color scheme of this style contains light brown, beige, sand and gray colors. Neutral colors must be diluted with rich shades: red, blue, saturated purple or bright green.

Due to its practicality and severity, such styles (country, Provence, classic) never go out of the stream of fashion trends. A kitchen decorated in these styles will always be relevant.

This option is ideal for people who do not tolerate frequent repairs and can not stand the change of scenery. It is enough to continue updating individual elements of the interior, for example, changing curtains on windows and acquiring new flower pots. You can change the wooden inserts for rattan or stained glass on the kitchen facades, and the kitchen will sparkle in a new way.

Techno and hi tech styles

From the rustic-style kitchens, let’s move on to the exact opposite - urban techno and hi tech styles. The ancestor of these fashion trends is Art Nouveau, in which for the past century modern concepts of industrial society have been introduced. These styles are aimed primarily at getting rid of excesses of details and emphasizing technological progress. The design uses only elements of constant use. The principle of these style directions is convenience and functionality. High-tech materials have special strength and durability.

In the design of the kitchen, preference is given to innovative materials, strict geometric shapes, monochrome shades, a combination of metal surfaces and glass. Such kitchens are a spectacular framework for technical developments designed to facilitate kitchen work. All household appliances harmoniously fit into the overall interior and are displayed, being a necessary part of it.

Techno and hi tech kitchen furniture is particularly ergonomic and multi-functional. Smooth facades have clear lines and glossy sheen. Due to these qualities, the narrow space of the kitchen visually increases. Modular furniture is equipped with many drawers, shelves, carousels, which are usually equipped with different mechanisms: pneumatic shock absorbers, elevators, closers. The mechanization of the kitchen furniture makes it silent and comfortable.

When designing kitchens in techno-style or hi tech, the crucial task is the correct distribution of lighting. Electric light should create the effect of space. One chandelier is not enough. Spotlights are designed for the working area; LED lighting highlights furniture and structural elements of the ceiling; a group of string lights is suspended above the dining area. Spotlights are in perfect harmony with the interior of the techno-kitchen. For lighting fixtures, the most simple shapes are selected: cone, ball or cube.

High-tech style decorative elements are abstract in nature: flowerpots of incredible shapes, original lighting fixtures, avant-garde reproductions. All the details and design elements evoke thoughts about the vastness of space. Even a metal worktop looks like a seat for a spacecraft. Such styles for the design of the kitchen space are decided by decisive people who respect technological progress.

These styles - classic, country, provence, techno - are great for decorating the kitchen, as the kitchen space is used with the greatest functionality. The choice of the design direction is formed from the lifestyle and characteristics inherent in each person. Classics are suitable for romantic natures in the field of art, and techno is suitable for business people with a dynamic nature.
