Bachelor’s apartment: decent housing for a real man
How much can the appearance of a house say about its owner! One glance at the apartment is enough to determine as accurately as possible who lives in it: a family with several children, a married couple of an advanced age or an unmarried girl. However, today we do not have to wonder who exactly is the owner of the dwelling, which is located in one of the multi-storey buildings of a noisy city, as this is known in advance. We will visit the apartment of a successful modern man who has not yet had time to start a family and children.
What distinguishes a bachelor’s home from an ordinary city apartment?
- Relative compactness, since housing is designed for permanent residence of one person.
- Maximum functionality when locating vital areas and placing household trifles.
- A certain asceticism, lack of materials and things in the interior, which are most often used by couples and single housewives.
So, before us is a typical apartment of a single man. The shelter of a modern bachelor consists of several rooms. In the most spacious of them are several significant functional areas:
- a place for everyday relaxation;
- mini-library;
- dining room;
- study.
It should be noted that the interior of the entire apartment is designed in the same style. There is nothing screaming, provocative and extra-fashionable. Rather, it is a duet of such design trends as modern and retro-style. The color scheme chosen for the design of the apartment is consistent with the general mood of the dwelling of a single man. Light shades prevail in the interior: white, brownish-beige and gray.
Bachelor's lounge
The recreation area occupies the largest area in the central room of the apartment. It has everything that helps create a feeling of comfort after a hard day's work:
- a cozy sofa with many cozy decorative pillows;
- retro style armchair;
- a convenient lighting device, which, if necessary, can be raised higher or lowered to the required level;
- lightweight floor mat.
A large soft sofa, covered with practical gray fabric, can be increased in size if necessary. The gray and white patchwork rug looks great next to the sofa upholstery and textiles of the same color. A white armchair in combination with a floor lamp and pillows complements the general color scheme. A small coffee table with a round tabletop on three curved legs performs an exclusively decorative function: a vessel for fresh flowers of an original form is placed on its surface.
Opposite the recreation area is a small old chest of drawers of gray-violet color, which serves to store all kinds of things.
Items used by the homeowner in everyday life will fit perfectly on shelves, in chest drawers and on its surface.
In this apartment there is no specific place for reading books and periodicals. You can settle down with a book in your hands both to the right of the sofa and to the left of it. In one part of the master’s room, a simple wooden armchair of uncomplicated shape awaits, a small improvised table and an open cupboard for storing books, as well as other, equally important items.
On the other side of the room were pieces of furniture such as a brownish-beige armchair, a large soft cream-colored ottoman, a bunch of old magazines on the floor and a narrow metal cabinet that serves as a safe and a coffee table at the same time.
The chair in this part of the room has a less ascetic appearance: it is made of wood and soft elastic skin. To illuminate this area, you can use a special table lamp standing on the metal surface of the cabinet.
Bachelor's dining room
The part of the room, representing the dining room area, includes the following furniture and accessories:
- solid wooden table of rectangular shape;
- four chairs on metal frames, one of which is somewhat different from the rest;
- improvised fireplace;
- A massive squat bookcase;
- two pendant lamps of muted orange color above the dining table;
- stylish pictures and photographs within.
Particularly noteworthy is an elongated cabinet standing on the floor. Its surface is used to store many amazing items. Here you can see an old music player of records with headphones, a bottle of alcoholic drinks and a metal table lamp of an original round shape.
The bachelor’s office
The zone intended for work is located in the corner of the room. The study takes up very little space in the room, however, plays a very significant role in the life of the owner of the apartment. The place for work is equipped with a computer table with all the necessary accessories, a convenient table lamp, an armchair and a wall shelf, where you can put everything you need for the creative process.
In addition, the living room has access to the loggia - a rather large, beautifully lit room. It housed a small sofa with white upholstery and old furniture in retro style: a stable stool, a stand and a small folding table. The floor in the room is covered with a warm coating resembling a soft grass cover. The room also has several pots with fresh flowers.
Bachelor bedroom
The sleeping area is located in a separate room. Small space holds:
- a wide bed with pillows of various shapes;
- a compact bedside table to accommodate the most necessary;
- a rather long windowsill, serving as a shelf on which you can put some interesting stylish gizmos.
The interior of the room is designed in milk and coffee tones. The most saturated color have curtains. The noble brown shade of the curtains goes well with pastel shades of walls, furniture and textiles. A chandelier that looks like a large black ball made of threads looks somewhat unusual against the general background.
Bachelor cuisine
The kitchen space in this apartment, like the bedroom, takes up little space. Everything is extremely functional here: there is a zone for cooking and heating simple food and several places for storing the most necessary kitchen utensils.
Most likely, the landlord does not attach much importance to this room.
The image of a typical apartment of a real bachelor is almost complete. And all the details that were not taken into account by designers in the process of creating this interior will be put in place by life itself.
